Andrea’s Parents

Andrea's parents at camp

We never would have thought that within a year of moving to Uganda, we would get to welcome my parents into our lives here.  It was amazing to have Dad and Mom with us for almost 2 weeks.  They came with the team from Calvary Community Church and had a great time seeing several different parts of Uganda.

We had been looking forward to their visit for so long that once they got here, it was almost surreal that they were with us!  It was so much fun to hear all of their questions–the same ones that most newcomers ask…and then some.  It was great to be able to share with them our current life.  They were a huge help at the camp in many ways, finding ways to make our lives easier.  We love the fact that they now understand that much more about where we live, the people in our lives here, etc.  It was great fun to finally be able to introduce them to the Ebenezer Family as well–people loved meeting them!

The time together went entirely too fast.  I’ll admit that I had an emotional day after saying good-bye to them at the airport…but life goes on.  It was great to have them come out with the team and see the broad picture of the ministry of New Hope Uganda; however, we do look forward to the day when they can return to visit us and be at the camp for the majority of their stay.  We love you, Dad and Mom!
