Mountain Springs Church

An all-to-familiar, bittersweet feeling is gracing our day today…the feeling of working hard all week and being tired to the bone, but HATING to see the group you’ve been serving leave camp.  As the last good-bye is given and the vehicles drive away, the quietness that follows offers a sweet rest, but it also can bring a sense of loneliness.  So as I sit down to write, those are my feelings.

We just had a great week with a group of high schoolers from Mountain Springs Church in Colorado Springs.  Between students, leaders, and some staff from Kasana that joined us, we had a total of 45 people here for the first half of the week (the most that have ever been here at once!) and then 21 people for the remaining time.  The team was exceptional, jumping in with servants hearts to do anything from helping with dishes and cooking to mixing cement, painting, and digging ant hills.  In addition to working on camp projects, the group also did some outreach projects in the surrounding community, helping widows and facilitating a showing of the Jesus film in conjunction with the local churches.  As always, our one complaint was that we didn’t get to spend more time getting to know this amazing group of people.  We were glad for the conversations that we did have though.

It’s exciting to have even more people exposed to Musana Camps, getting excited about the vision and passing it on to people in their circles.  Thanks Mountain Springs for an amazing week!
