Dakota Picnic

Dakota Picnic

Last Saturday was the annual NHU Dakota Picnic–an event that we had been looking forward to since we found out we were going to be in the states when it was held.  More than 75 people gathered at a picnic shelter in Taylor, ND to reconnect with one another and to celebrate what God is doing through New Hope in Uganda.  Everyone at the picnic had some connection with New Hope Uganda whether through a short-term trip, former or present missionaries or just lots of interest and involvement state-side.  It was fun seeing people that we had been with on a team in 2007 as well as team members who we had just met during these last 3 years in Uganda.  Syd was able to thank people for their involvement with the camp and update people on what is going on at the camp.  And speaking of updates, the “Musana Camps: Status” page on this website has been updated so you can more accurately know what is going on at Musana.

One of North Dakota’s “tourist attractions” is the Enchanted Highway, on which there is a series of metal sculptures spaced at intervals.  The below picture is of one of those sculptures depicting the pheasants that are so prevalent in that area.  So please, mark Hwy 8, the Enchanted Highway, on your maps and come out our way! :)
