Ugandan Friends

Last week we had a great time in Belle Fourche, SD–a little Uganda reunion of sorts.  Nancy Kirsch and Gabe and Andrea Williams (all co-workers from Kasana Children’s Center) were visiting Gary and Louise Wood (the North American director of New Hope Uganda Ministries) for the better part of a week.  With Belle being only 115 miles away, we thought this would be a great chance to catch up with all of these friends.  We DID have a great time catching up on things as we left them in Uganda and just enjoying each others’ company.  Gary was pretty busy with work in the office on Friday, so the 6 of us visitors headed down to Mt. Rushmore for the day.  Although they’ve made it a bit into a shrine, it is a fascinating monument!

We also enjoyed several chances to visit with our friends, the Pages, while down there (we met the Pages when they came on a team to Uganda).  We were excited to be around for their birthday-and-business anniversary celebration on Saturday night which Syd’s parents even came down for.  Then we headed over to Lemmon, SD to speak in a nearby church on Sunday morning.  All in all, it was a fun Ugandan-themed weekend for us!
