Running the Race

Envisioning-2016-StaffWe were able to go to Kasana in January for the annual Envisioning Conference. It was great to reconnect with people and even get to see Jay and Josiah Dangers and meet Adam Keath, the new NHUM president. It was an encouraging time. The Lord has brought together some amazing men and women of God to serve there—we are so glad for the many amazing people that we have gotten to know here over the years! We especially enjoyed the conference this year since Syd’s Dad and Keisha were still with us. Not only did we have some chances to visit more in the evenings and on the weekend, but they watched our kids so that we could concentrate fully during the meetings! An AMAZING gift!

Anyway, the theme for NHU this year is “Running the Race Set Before Us” based on Hebrews 12:1-2.   It’s been good to think about these verses again, seeking the Lord for what hindrances (however good they may be!) we need to lay off and what sins we need to take care of so that we can run strongly the race marked out for us. We have been reminded lately how quickly we can get tired and discouraged when our eyes are not fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith! So we are holding on to His grace and truth, and choosing to live with joy because of being in His presence.
