We got back from Kasana (after picking up supplies in Kampala) with one day to get ready for David Family to come for a 3-night retreat.  It was fun to have them back for the third time.  We packed their schedule with devotion times, group games, group initiatives and two intense hikes throughout our property.  The retreat went very well and the teaching was well received.

A couple of days after David Family left, a group from Kobwin Children’s Center (New Hope’s new center in the northeastern part of Uganda) arrived for 4 nights.  They were joined the next day by a team of college students from Arizona.  Together, the group was doing some group unity activities and planning for some outreaches that they would do from Kobwin.  It was neat to see the 2 groups come together at the camp and bond through their love in Christ.  It was a great few days, but not without many transportation snags for the groups both arriving and departing from the camp.

With these groups here in the past month, it has been really fun to see our staff coming together to facilitate the programming.  Everyone has done really well at helping out in the areas that they are scheduled in.  It was especially neat for our Investment Year students to be able to help out with some camps as their time ended with us.  We are excited to continue doing staff training for camps in the future so that we are training, equipping and discipling our staff.
